The Rev. Stephen will be the priest-in-charge of Beresfield/Thornton from the 10 Dec 2025.
He is currently a deacon in the Anglican Church and currently attends St Peter's East Maitland. Peter has worked as a secondary teacher, where he mostly taught English. He is 54 and married to Bronwyn, who is a Teacher/Librarian at St Bede's Catholic College at Chisholm. Bronwyn enjoys, quilting, crochet and loves her dog Rosie.
They have four children, Robert 22 (law student), Sarah 16 (currently on Rotary exchange in Germany), Phillip 13 (in Year 8) and Bridget 11.
They have lived in Tenambit for the last 24 years, and Stephen is currently employed at Maitland Christian School where he has worked for the past 12 years.
Stephen is a passionate advocate for Christian Education in all forms, and feels it is imported to have a presence and a voice in state schools.
His ministry priorities and goals are:
To put God at the centre of all we do
To grow disciples
To build community within the Church
To foster a church environment that is attractive and assessible to newcomers
To create a place of inclusivity, beauty, love hope and joy.... to his Glory.
